Xyla - Alyx - is a music producer, composer, game audio designer, and multidisciplinary artist in San Francisco, California. After nearly 10 years of playing the French Horn and receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Performance at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, she found herself yearning for the means to create her own compositions. In the Winter of 2015, she discovered Ableton Live - a digital audio workstation geared towards technological creativity, composition, and live performance. She instantly fell in love, proclaiming that Ableton was the instrument she had been searching for.

Since then, Xyla has shifted from performance to production, dedicating her time to learning the ins-and-outs of Ableton and writing music that draws inspiration from the sounds she has heard in clubs, concert halls, and music venues around the world. In 2020, she landed a record deal with Leaving Records and released her debut album, Ways, garnering praise and support from the likes of Pitchfork, KQED, and the San Francisco Chronicle with exclusive single releases on BBC Radio 6. As of Spring of 2022, Xyla is aiming to blend her passion for production with her love of video games and scoring - she is currently studying to receive a Professional Certificate in Game Audio Production through Berklee College of Music. In addition to being a student, Xyla is now an Ableton Professor at her alma mater.
